PC Flight simulation
The experience of "flying" on a PC is overwhelming, and with recent PC technology it comes closer and closer to "the real thing". Have you ever been sitting in a Cessna wanting to take the left seat and the yoke? This is your opportunity! Get the Cessna Skylane 172P, one of the most successful general aviation planes ever built! Place it on the runway of Seattle-Tacoma Intl. , release the brakes, give full throttle and take off! Landing requires a bit more practice, but any crash (while sure being annoying) is not dangerous for health at all.
If you've never seen it I highly
recommend visiting someone who has MSFS.
Try it! But take care -
you might become addicted to it. The screen shot to the left shows the
plane on its way from the Golden Gate bridge behind entering Downtown
SF, the Bay Bridge plus Treasure Island in front and the twin Peaks to
the right. Click the shot to the left, to get a larger version. Isn't
it fascinating?Perhaps this is a good place to thank all the talented programmers for the sceneries, planes and other add-ons they made during hundreds of hours and provided to the flight sim community mostly for free!
Not yet convinced? Perhaps two more of my screen shots can help (again, click for larger version):
On the left we are flying in downtown, and to the right - that's me entering the city of my home town Jena. Again, both areas are based on add-ons, build by a German software house called aerosoft (to the left: VFR Berlin, to then right Germany 4).
